The ratings are generated using scientific methods that come from a variety of industries, especially from the user experience and usability profession.

5 stars, Outstanding. A product is nearly perfect, absolutely the best. Very few products and services get a 5 star rating, simply because most product need improvement in one of the above evaluation criteria. |

4 stars, Great. A product is or service is better than most. It scores highly in several of the evaluation criteria. |

3 stars, Good. An average product that meets the needs of the intended customer. |

2 stars, Flawed. The product may still be usable, but is worse than most. It may have a critical flaw or lower ratings in several of the evaluation criteria. |

1 star, Unacceptable. A product that is not usable. It may present a safety problem or is severely flawed in the design. |
