Full Review
Setup
While assembly required no tools and took only 16 minutes, the Kolcraft Contrours Lite Plus could have been faster with better instructions. The only difficult task was pushing the tray into the holes.
Securing children, and Safety
Placing a child in the front seat would be easy were it not for the extreme difficulty of opening the tray. The tray’s release pins are tiny and require excessive force to press. One might use a key or similar object to protect the finger or thumb involved. Worse is that both pins need to be pressed, and the tray removed before the child is placed in the seat. This difficulty may result in the parent lowering the child behind the tray into the seat.
Fastening and releasing the harness is very difficult and may result in pinched fingers. Finally, reattaching the tray is difficult.
Transport
At 19 lbs, it is easy for most people to place into and take out of a vehicle.
Folding
The locking/unlocking latch is somewhat difficult to find, though once located the unit is easy to fold and unfold.
Child-friendly features
- Footrest
- Reclining seat with padded back
- iPod “dok” for music (requires a music player)
- Canopy (but no a see-through opening, and does not adjust for low sun)
- One cup-holder and small tray
Performance and features
- Padded handlebar
- One washable cup-holder
- storage basket
The Kolcraft Contrours Lite Plus has good maneuverability in town and over curbs. The ride is comfortable over small bumps, but sidewalk “lips” cause it to stop or tip forward. It generally felt unstable, and swayed during emergency turns, and a tendency to tip over across steep terrain.
The handlebar is padded but not adjustable. The crossbar height is 38″ along the center, and 36″ at the sides.
The parking brake is set by pressing a lever at each of the back wheels.
Design
The stroller has passable appearance, but a number of serious design flaws that need improvement.

went to Legoland with the stroller. Loved the fact that when you close it up it folds up so small that it is shorter than the headrest in my mini van. I can see out without seeing the handles. It was very easy to use in the park. My son slept great in it and it was not hot for him. A lot of room underneath for food and diaper bags.

I did not use the tray , It was hard to get it off of the stroller and I had to turn the stroller over and play with it to get it off. I also used the Ipod case for a place to keep my cell phone because of lack of pockets to put things in for the parents
