Around town and gentle trails

price details Price $205.57 to 249.99

Summary

This double stroller provides a good compromise between in town and gentle trail use. It has color-coded buttons, good comfort and performance features. But, it is very heavy.

The Good

  • Nice handling
  • Kid-friendly designs

The Bad

  • Very heavy to transport

Setup 2 stars -- Flawed

The Graco Quattro Tour Duo Stroller was one of the easier units to assemble, requiring only a Philips screwdriver and 18 minutes. However, the storage basket adjustment design needs improvement.

Securing children, and Safety 3 stars -- Good

Placing a child in the front seat is very easy because there is no tray or bar. Rear seat access is acceptable but hampered by the tray that does not fully rotate out of the way.
Adjusting and fastening the harness is fairly easy, although the harness parts need to be interconnected. Unfastening is enhanced by an easy push-button release.

Transport 3 stars -- Good

Due to its size and weight (38 lbs), this stroller is hard for most people to lift into out of a vehicle.

Folding 3 stars -- Good

The locking/unlocking latch is somewhat difficult to find. Once the latch is located, the unit is easy to fold and unfold.

Child-friendly features 3.5 stars -- Great

  • Footrests and reclining seats
  • Front canopy adjusts for low sun; both canopies have side-view windows
  • Rear canopy provides moderate coverage, and has a see-through mesh window
  • Front cup holders, rear tray and cup holder
  • Good headroom
  • Very smooth ride

Performance and features 3 stars -- Good

  • Good handling
  • Single-action parking brake
  • Small pouch for the adult’s convenience
  • Two washable cup/snack holders
  • Front wheel for trail trail use
  • storage basket, and two small mesh pockets

The Graco Quattro Tour Duo stroller handles sidewalk “lips” fairly well, and the ride is comfortable over moderate bumps. It is stable going over curbs, but like some other strollers tested, it has a tendency to tip over across steep terrain. Pivoting front wheels allow very good maneuverability in town. Levers at each front wheel allows the wheels to be locked for use on grass or trails.
The handlebar is not adjustable, and somewhat high shorter people. Hands can be positioned on the crossbar on the wing handles.
The parking brake is easily set by either of the pedals at the back wheels, and locks both sides.

Design 3 stars -- Good

This stroller has good functionality details. Not surprisingly, we found that kids preferred the roomier rear seat, and sunshade. While the front canopy adjusts forward for low sun, it does not rotate backward enough to block sun on the neck.
